Lords of War Charter

The Lords of War were formed to provide a fun, friendly guild of friends to assist each other with achieving our goals in game and providing assistance, communication and help throughout the game. This could be for quests, dungeons, crafted items, raids, etc.

We are a casual raiding guild but you will be not required to raid or make that a focus of your activities.

1.0 General rules of War

  1. Do what is in your power to help fellow guild members. If they don’t know how to do something, teach them. If they need combat support, provide it. If they need something you can provide, provide it.
  2. Fair, truthful and respectful dealings are expected by everyone in the guild. It is also expected by anyone dealing with the guild. Speak to your guild mates as you would like to be spoken to at all times and with respect.

2.0 The Lords

We use the following ranks for the Lords of War.

Guild Leader – Jorit (aka Emban, Tandis, Padii, Crenzo)

He is our leader and manages everything in the guild. He is also the final word in everything concerning the guild and settles any dispute that cannot be settled at lower levels.

Assistant Guild Leaders

They are in charge of managing and overseeing the officers and the duties assigned to them. They also assist in running the day to day functions of the guild.

Officers

The officers of the guild are charged with helping fellow members reach their goals. This is done by scheduling and running guild events, raids, leading raids/5 mans. Thy also settle disputes in the guild and help with recruiting new members into the guild. Raider ranks will be tracked in their guild note.

Advisors

They have the ability to participate in the officer channel but do not have invite/kick rights and are valued for the knowledge about the game/guild they bring. Raider ranks will be tracked in their guild note.

Raider 3

This is the main character of a person who has chosen to make raiding a priority of their time in game. In order to reach/maintain this rank they will have to attend 75% of the raids during the previous months scheduled guild raids. They are expected to show a high degree of competency in their performance during a raid. They also have to meet all raider rank requirements below.

Raider 2

This is the main character of a person who has chosen to make raiding a priority of their time in game. In order to reach/maintain this rank they will have to attend 50% of the raids during the previous months scheduled guild raids. They are expected to show a high degree of competency in their performance during a raid. They also have to meet all raider rank requirements below.

Raider 1

This is the main character of a person who would like to raid but hasn’t been able to meet the above attendance requirements. They are expected to show a high degree of competency in their performance during a raid.

Members

A member’s responsibility is to support other members and recruits. Help one another to gain levels, finish missions, or do whatever individual goals one might have in game. This is also the default rank of all alts and people who don’t which to raid.

Recruit

A recruit’s only responsibility is to prove to the guild leadership that they can be a contributing member of the guild. This could take a few minutes to a few days. Only the guild leader can promote someone from a recruit to a member, but anyone can recommend it. The length of the trial period will vary depending on the recruit but will last no longer then 30 days.

Lords of War is by no means a military organization or some sort of socialist republic. The rank structure is in place mainly to provide a means of communication so that everyone can get their voices heard and to assist us in tracking who is contributing the most to raids. Please follow the chain of command for any in game issues. The leadership is also not designed to give out orders to lower ranking members of the guild. As with all guild guidelines, if you witness someone abusing their rank please report it to someone higher up the chain. The guild leader has an open door policy and you are always welcome to bring issues to him when needed.

3.0 Spoils of War

The general rules for dealing with loot apply only to guild only events, raids, groups.

  1. Need before Greed if the character you are playing at that time can and will use the loot over current items.
  2. Greed all Bind On Equip greens unless rule #1 applies.
  3. Pass on Bind on Pickup items unless rule #1 applies. If no one in the group needs the item then it will be either rolled on afterwards for selling to the vendor or Disenchanted and the items there can be rolled on.
  4. As always if you have a question then say something to the group before rolling to confirm your understanding or if making a request.
  5. Any additional rules agreed upon by the group should be followed by the entire group.

4.0 The Lords of War Raids

Raids will be Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday 5pm Server time and run until around 8pm server time.

Raids will be scheduled in the Blizzard calendar. An invite will be sent out to all ranks eligible for that raid. Some raids might be set up for progression and only the top tiered raiders would be invited others will be more open with all level of raiders being invited.

When setting up a raid, preference will be given to a higher ranked raider but if you are asked to sit for that raid that still counts as raiding for attendance if are willing and able to raid. Showing up when you have to leave in 10 minutes will not count as you trying to raid.

All raiders will be ranked on attendance/performance once we start raiding. This will be reviewed on a monthly basis and we will look at the previous month’s raids to determine the new rank.

The ranks will be broken up as follows.

Raider 3- Same as Raider 2 but attends 75% or more of the raids.

Raider 2 – Same as Raider 1 but attends 50% or more of the raids

Raider 1 – The main character who is at least level 80.

Member – A non raider or an alt of a raider.

Your performance during raids might cause your rank to be lowered which would be reviewed on a case by case basis by the officers.

I will not begin tracking attendance for you until your first raid. Everyone levels at a different rate and we understand and are fine with that.

Loot on all raids will be handled as follows.

We will be using a DKP system to handle loot.

DKP will be tracked start as of the first guild raid in the new expansion.

All guild raids will use DKP and the same DKP total will be used in all instances.

You will earn 10 DKP a raid if you are on time to the raid and stay until the raid is called by the raid leader. On time to the raid is at the raid zone in point 10 minutes before the raid is scheduled to start with all the gear/specs/potions, etc you need to raid. The goal is to have the raid start buffing and pulling AT the start time.

You will earn 5 DKP if you are in the raid but not there the entire time. This is to still reward people who were in the raid but had to leave before or got there late. FYI, if we have 3 people leave and then the raid is called the 3 people who left will get 5 DKP and the rest of the raid would earn the 10 DKP. You will only earn the 10 DKP if you are there the entire time.

When a boss dies then we will ask who is interested in the item for their main spec. Your main spec is based on the role you put into the raid to perform. So if you are a tank but do DPS on some fights, Tanking is your main role. With the possibility of the dual specs we do not want to see a main healer losing an item to someone that wants it to heal during PVP for example. The use of the item for the raid is the primary goal.

Each piece of equipment/badge that drops will be worth -10 DKP, with each recipe, enchant, etc costing -5 dkp. Any BOP recipes that make a BOE item will go to an advisor or higher of the guild automatically that can make that item. That person will be expected to freely make that item for any guild member who provides the materials for it. This is to keep those rare reciepe’s in the guild.

After we do the main specs and if the item is still unclaimed we will then offer it for off specs. Items for off specs still cost the exact same amount of DKP.

If the item is still unclaimed we will then disenchant it (or if no enchanters are in the raid, the raid leader will vendor it to put in the guild bank) and the results of the disenchanted item will go into the bank. During a raid all greens will go to the master looter to be used by the guild through disenchanting/selling, etc depending on the item and need.

Any epic BOE items looted by the raid will still go through the DKP process for the people in the raid. If after this process the BOE item is still unclaimed it will be put in the guild bank. Any epic BOE items from raid will be posted in the guild forums. You can request the item through the forums. The officers will review all the requests weekly and make a decision on who exactly gets the item and spends the DKP. Priority will be given to Main Raider 3s for main spec always.

Every month all DKP will decay by 10%. This is to stop any potential hording of DKP. This will not cause you to go negative and anyone in negative will not decay. This is also gives a newer raider a chance to earn items without waiting for every veteran to have their choice of loot first.

Mains Vs Alts

When joining the guild you will be given the option of declaring which of your characters is the main focus of your playing. This is the character you will spend most of your time and energy playing and trying to get geared up. This is also the character we expect you to bring on raids. You do have an option of bringing an alternate character on raids but it would still have to be a needed character class for that raid and other mains would get attendance priority over this alternate character. Also for loot rolling a main character would win any loot over an alternate character.

Sometimes you might be asked to bring an alternate character to a raid. If you are asked to bring an alternate character then that character will be treated a main character for that raid. This will be done by an officer in a public announcement, something along the lines of, “Emban has been asked to bring Tandis to the raid as we need a Tank, Tandis will be considered a main character for this raid.”

We will also track who and which characters are brought in this way in order to ensure that it is not the same characters over and over and to enable us to recruit more of that type of character if it is a constant occurrence.

If you which to switch main characters you can do that with the approval of the officers. The officers will discuss this request and give you an answer within 7 days. If approved your raiding rank will be reset to rank 1.

Reserve Units

Sometimes our force will become full, and we will ask that you stay behind in reserve. If this is the case your name will be put on the sit list and you will have priority to get into the next raid over someone who hasn't been asked to sit out. It is required that you stay online as if you were raiding in case someone in the raid has a real life issue and needs to drop out. This will count towards Raid Attendance.

5.0 Communication with the Lords

Guild Chat is open to all, the language might get R rated sometimes so be aware of this. There is a bad language filter that can be turned on if you wish. At all times you should treat each other with kindness and respect. Angry words and debates do not help anyone Even if you disagree with ideas proposed by a guild member, respond to the idea and do not attack each other.

6.0 Leaving the Guild.

For various reasons, people will leave the guild. This is sad but a fact of life. No single guild will be perfect for all people. Also people might wish to have some characters in one guild and others in other guild. I am not the guild police and to a large degree don’t care. What I will say is that we will take care of the characters that are IN the guild first. This means that you could be the best friend of the entire guild but if you are in another guild then our guild members get a priority on raid invites and such. Yes, if we have extra room we will bring friends of the guild but they will have to follow guild rules when participating in guild activities.

If you wish to leave the guild I would hope you would show us respect by at least letting an officer know why you are leaving the guild. If you leave the guild for any reason, do not count on being able to get another invite to the guild. Those requests will be handled on a case by case basis.
